Book Signing & Injury

What a title? I promise it will make sense. This past weekend I fell while running and instead of catching myself with my hands, my face fully broke my fall on the sidewalk. Don’t worry I’m ok, but I look a little reminiscent of a zombie or botched plastic surgery. Monday and Tuesday were the worst with a very puffed up upper lip, swollen cheekbone and puffy knees. It’s all healing and I can finally talk relatively normally again. The thing though is that it will take at least a week for the scabs and scrapes to go away. This overlaps with my Barnes & Noble Rockwall TX book signing. I told my contact I could tough it out and wear a mask but if possible, could we move it. They were more than accommodating and graciously moved the date to 3/28 at 3pm. While I know I could have made it through it’s nice to know I can just wait a second and show up fully as my best self. That’s what you the readers deserve anyways. So if you were planning to come see me this Saturday, bump it back a few weeks. I’m excited to see you there and for my body to look like it’s regular self again.
