Hi Everyone!

My name is Ashley and I write genre blending stories across speculative fiction, sci-fi, climate fiction and horror.

I reside in East Austin TX with my partner ( Danny) and 3 fur baby rescue mutts ( Bently, Fredrik & Bruno). A self declared bibliophile and always a storyteller casting tales from a young age along the way I’ve typed away for various scholarships and minor publications. Now though, I’ve thrown myself into the realm of novel creation. When I’m not writing you can find me out in nature far from the chaos of the world, hiking, kayaking, enjoying good, inventive food or a matcha latte. At home my garden and library are my solitude though I deeply enjoy the artistic, quirky offerings of Austin. Having traveled the world each place and community has deeply impacted my life in ways I’m beyond grateful for. I can’t predict what’s next because it’s always an opportunity to take part and I’d rather hop on an adventurous side quest than die a bore.

    I LOVE food & being delighted with tasty surprises. I have 2 very different favorites. Tacos because anything can be made into a taco & it’s so comforting. Microgatronomey because it blows my mind the possibilities. Shout out to Vegan Nom & Fabrik!

  • Morning Person or Night Owl

    Morning person but I like slow or contemplative morning.

  • Print, Digital or Audio - Books

    Everyone has what fits them best. For meit’s print books ( preferably hardcover). I like the tactile quality & reading is a meditative experience for me that I don’t have the same way with other formats. Old books especially are addictive & always get a good sniff with memories the scents on their pages hold. So yes, it’s one of few guilt, indulgent pleasures( some would say a vice) I take part in.

  • Go To Drink

    Water (still then sparkling but never flavored)

    Kombucha

    Oat Vanilla Latter or Matcha Latte with Oat Milk

    Paloma or Margarita (mezcal preferred but always on the rocks). Gin drink only if it’s British gin.

  • What Made You Fall in Love With Books

    Books created endless possiblities & offered escapism in a world that seem so finite. As a child in a small town, they offered a gateway to options that all felt tangible even if they were magical. I felt like I could relate to characters sometimes better than classmates because they were dreamers & doers . Books were a safe space where my quirkiness was celebrated as a superpower had I been apart of the hypothetical heroes’ group in the story. Books allowed me to see the world from perspectives I logistically didn’t have exposure to.
