"IN STASIS MAP"
This is a limited edition linocut topographical map of the mountain area that Jessi & Janus reside in throughout “In Stasis”.
You’ll see icons referencing “Home” (house with H), “Neighbors” (house with N), “Church” (house shape with cross), “Trading Post” ( rectangle with TP), and 2 events that I can’t detail here without spoilers but the one is the mauve jagged blast shape and the other is a burgundy oval.
The print images measures approx 4.5”x6” and will fit in a frame withe 5”x7” opening (there is extra border to be able to frame). These pieces are UNFRAMED… if you’d like me to frame them please message & I will try to accommodate.
All the imagery was created with a flexible linocut mat and printmaking ink on Japanese archival paper. Fine details, (like elevation), were detailed with a felt pen or additional hand painted ink.
The beauty of linocut & printmaking is that while each print is more of less the same there are minor variations depending upon the way the ink takes, builds, transfers etc. To most artists (including myselt) these unique details enhance the authenticy and serendipitous beauty and they are a natural part of the process. In the image in the listing with 4 prints next to each other you’d see 4 examples of variations ( clean, little gritty, gritty, lighter transfer). IF you have a preference you can request but there is no guarantee. Otherwise I will choose at random.
Why linocut? The artist (Ashley Peters) went to undergrad for a BFA and focused in drawing & printmaking.. It was her first lost. It’s also fitting sine the printing press really revolutionized mass productions of literature. Ashley intently created each & every one of these. By purchasing you are a part of this author’s & story’s journey as these funds will go directly towards publishing & marketing costs.
