Austin Book Trail

Before I was an author I loved going on the Austin Book Trail so once I wrote my debut novel I knew it was something I needed to be a part of. For those who aren’t aware, the Austin Book Trail is a yearly event where you as the reader are provided a map of all the independent participating and the goal is to make your way through as many as possible, receiving a stamp at each and there’s discounts, raffles and more. It’s and incredible way to experience the wide variety of amazing bookstores in Austin and discover ones you may have never visited before.

I reached out to Abby of Birdhouse Books about doing a signing event at the Bookstore during one of the days. She graciously allowed myself and another local author (Jess Hagemann) to have book signing tables during the Saturday portion of the trail.

It went wonderfully. The store was bustling with trail-goers and many stopped by. In just three hours I sold 19 books. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting so people, signing lots of books and even a tote bag. One reader was collecting signatures of authors he had met through Birdhouse Books on his Birdhouse Books tote bag. There was also a student writing about the Austin Book Trail who interviewed us about the trial and our books.

I am so grateful to all the fantastic conversations I was able to have and to Birdhouse Books for having me. It was a great experience and I hope that everyone who purchased a copy enjoys reading In Stasis.
