The Book Launch Party

In Stasis & author Ashley Peters at Birdhouse Books

This past Thursday ( 1/15/26) I had my book launch party at Birdhouse Books and it exceeded expectations. I don’t know exactly what I expected but as a debut novelist with family that doesn’t live local to fill the seats I think some part of me was worried it would be empty or no one would be interested. Thankfully I was wrong.

We had over 20 people show up who were very excited to receive their copy of the book with their ticket and ready to listen. Rocio Carranza was my conversation partner. I’m fortunate to have met her early on in my writing career and so grateful that she is such a caring and encouraging human. Our talk was fantastic as we covered everything from the writing process, to hints but no spoilers, takeaways, and giveaways.

If you weren’t able to make it you can watch the whole chat here.

After our book chat we had a giveaway and then on to cake and signing. The cake was from Zucchini Kills and was s’mores flavored because it fit perfectly with the theme of camping - glamping -outdoorsy -wilderness. It was a delight to chat with all those in attendance and wild to see all these different humans who were connected to me, the book or the bookstore in a vast range of different ways.

Seeing everyone come together felt like one of the main threads of In Stasis was represented in real life. Community makes everything possible. Thank you to everyone who came out! I hope you enjoyed yourself and spread the word about In Stasis. In the meantime check of some images from the event below.
